Digital Literacy Training
Post Date: January 04, 2012SRMT is offering digital literacy training to the Akwesasne community through all five public computer centers being developed in Akwesasne. The locations of the public computer centers being developed are:
- Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club - the computers and SMART board are installed. All computers have high-speed Internet access, Microsoft Office 2010 installed and access to a printer and are waiting to be utilized. Public access is from 9am to 2pm Monday to Friday.
- Akwesasne Library - the computers will be ready for use by January 30, 2012. A SMART board is installed and will be available for use at the same time as the computers.
- Akwesasne Senior Center - A SMART board is installed and the staff will receive training next week. Computers will be installed at this location in the next quarter, public access is to be determined.
- Akwesasne Employment Resource Center - A SMART board is installed and the staff will receive training next week. Computers will be installed at this location in the next quarter, public access is to be determined.
- Training facility located at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino administration building - A SMART board is installed and the staff will receive training next week. Computers will be installed at this location in the next quarter, public access is to be determined.
All sites will provide computers with high-speed Internet access, and SMART boards for Akwesasne's benefit.
