Description of Position:
The Environment Division is seeking an Environmental Health Technician (EHT) for a 40-hr per week position to carry forward public outreach and education opportunities. Under the Water Resources Program and the St. Lawrence Area of Concern Program, the EHT shall facilitate the design, coordination, and evaluation of public outreach materials, including fish and game advisories. The EHE will implement the research objectives of a fish advisory project including conducting interviews, leading focus groups and implementing an advisory evaluation protocol. Salary is commensurate to demonstrated qualifications. Term position 18-mo: March 1, 2012-August 30, 2013.
Duties
Disseminate public outreach materials, conduct interviews, collect and organize public perception surveys, lead focus groups on fish advisories, maintain records and manage data, create public outreach material specific to fish and wildlife, serve as point of contact for outreach activities, publish and disseminate public information, participate in meetings,
Qualifications
- B.A. / B.S. in Environmental Science or Social Science,
- Ability to lead groups
- Self-motivated
- Work with minimal supervision
- Pro-active
- Experience with risk communication or risk analysis a plus Strong public speaking skills
- Experience with public outreach preferred

DRUG TESTING POLICY
