Ethics Commission
The Ethics Office seeks candidates for the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Ethics Commission. The Commission will have five (5) members and three (3) alternates to review and hear testimony of complaints against elected Tribal Officials.
Candidates must meet these criteria: 1) be an enrolled member of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, 2) not hold any other elective or full-time appointment to a public office 3) not be an elected or appointed official of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, 4) have voted in at least five tribal elections and, 5) be at least 25 years of age.
Those who are selected to the Commission must comply with certain criteria, including a criminal background check, drug screening and educational/job verification. They must take an oath to serve on the Commission. NATIVE PREFERENCE POLICY
The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe gives preference to Native Americans who meet the requirements of the posted position. To the extent possible, and consistent with job requirements, employees will be recruited from among the members of the Tribe. Applicants not entitled to Native Preference will receive consideration without discrimination based on age, sex, disability or national origin.
DRUG TESTING POLICY
The successful applicant for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. Test results are normally received in three to five days from the date of the test. In the case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe. Employment may not begin until this process has been completed.
