Vocational Rehabilitation Administrative Assistant

Under the direct supervision of the Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation (TVR) Program Manager, the Administrative Assistant for the TVR Program responsibilities include assisting with daily expenditures for consumer and administrative budget line items, order supplies, and is the key person when planning activities noted in the grant proposal. 
 

DUTIES:

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to Project Manager and staff.
  • Answer phone calls, and direct them properly.
  • Greet consumers coming into the TVR office, and direct them to proper personal whom they are looking to meet with.
  • Assist with budget development and tracking of expenditures.
  • Assist Manager with scheduled staff meetings.
  • Ordering of all supplies for the office and consumer services as needed.
  • Send out and receive mail for TVR office and document.
  • Turns staff time sheets into the payroll department on days required.
  • Assist manager with development of staff training.
  • Maintain contact with internal/external programs to assist TVR program with trainings, keeping staff up to date on other program changes that could affect the TVR program, and assist with outreach efforts.
  • Collect data, establish facts, and be familiar with resources available to assist with consumers and staff
  • Complete all P.O. and travel requisitions for manager to sign off on.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in a related field or High School Diploma with at least three years experience as an Administrative Assistant.
  • Basic knowledge of Tribal programs that assist consumers with disabilities.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of the Mohawk people of Akwesasne Community.

DRUG TESTING POLICY

The successful applicant for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. Test results are normally received in three to five days from the date of the test. In the case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe. Employment may not begin until this process has been completed.
