Mission: To provide administration and enforcement services of the SRMT Animal Control Ordinance while continuing to promote programs of animal care, responsible pet ownership and population control, including providing Tribal members assistance in a variety of animal related problems, while fostering rapport with Tribal members and ensuring the integrity of the SRMT.

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Animal Control Officer shall administer licenses and/or issue summons to animal owners for acts of violation/s of the SRMT Animal Control Ordinance while continuing to educate Tribal membership of the rules and regulations of the Animal Control Ordinance.

Mission: To foster rapport with tribal membership and ensure compliance of tribal regulations that provide a source of financial support to essential Tribal programs; which allows the SRMT and the community to work together for a better tomorrow.

The Compliance Department is responsible for the enforcement of Tribal laws and regulations as appointed by Tribal Council, either by a Tribal Ordinance or a Tribal Council Resolution; which are derived to protect the economic security, political integrity and general welfare of members of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe. Tribal Council has delegated the responsibility and authority of the levying, collection and maintenance of all fees associated with licensing regulated business activity to the Compliance Department.

Mission: To provide superior legal services in a timely, effective, and efficient basis, and maintain the highest standards of professional integrity to Tribal Council and tribal programs.

The purpose of the Legal Department is to bring more work “in-house” to assist Tribal Council and its many departments as an alternative to relying on outside counsel. The Legal Department does not handle legal issues for individual tribal member. The Legal Department provides assistance with National Grid Service line agreements; refers members to private attorneys and provides Notary Services free of charge to the community.

Mission: To positively enhance the image of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe through public opinion and public perception.

The purpose of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Office of Public Information is to positively enhance the image of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe in a professional manner by promoting information flow, promoting effective relations with various publics and media, providing interviews and public comments, professionally staging public events such as press conferences and inaugurations, working closely with Tribal Council and senior staff, educating the community and surrounding areas to the Tribe’s organization and ensuring consistent and unified position statements as measured by public opinion and public perception.

The office is responsible for developing and implementing all internal and external communication policies, logo management, image development, research and coordination of efforts between divisions.

The Public Information Office provides the public relations function for the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal government, its programs and divisions and the community at large. This entails the dissemination of information to the general public and the tribal community through managing media relations, press releases, Kawenni:ios monthly newsletter and the Tribe’s internet, intranet and Facebook sites.
