SAINT REGIS MOHAWK HEAD START

The Saint Regis Mohawk Head Start is a pre-school program for three and four year old children from primarily low-income households. We are able to enroll over income children once the low-income children are enrolled. The Head Start program has been in operation since 1978, and is federally funded by the American Indian/Alaska Native Programs Branch (AI/ANPB) of the Health and Human Services Division.

The Head Start program operates a combination Early Childhood Pre-School program in 63 Native American children for four classrooms. Two classrooms are part day/part year and two classrooms are full day/full year. Transportation is provided for the mornings and two afternoon bus runs. Meals are also provided to all classrooms.
