HIGHER EDUCATION
/ JOB TRAINING AND PLACEMENT
Through the Higher Education, scholarship funds provide eligible Mohawk
students to pursue post-secondary education either college or vocational
schooling. Funding for the program, in operation since 1986, is provided
by the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Under this program, not only are scholarship monies awarded, but students
are assisted in applying for various other types of financial aid. Students
are also assisted with the sometimes complicated college/training program
application procedures. Program staff further serve as the liaison between
the students and their college or Job Training and Placement program.
