WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT (WIA)

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe receives federal funds under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). The program offers assistance in the areas of education, employment and training. The program is for the economically disadvantaged, unemployed or underemployed with income guideline restrictions. There is a summer employment program which usually is funded for six weeks from July to August. The students are placed with not-for-profit organizations and also work in various Tribal programs.

The present WIA program also extends its services to recruiting services for area businesses and industrial companies.
