FAMILY SUPPORT CHILD RECREATION

This program started in 1998 under the Family Support contract which provides services to families with developmentally disabled children between the ages of 5 and 12. This program is strictly recreational for disabled children as well as children without disabilities. Children get off the bus at Family Support after school three times a week. A designated recreation room is available for their use in addition to a kitchen. Staffing is provided to carry out planned activities to include arts and crafts, field trips and cultural activities. It provides respite to families as well as socialization and inclusion for the children.
