REGULATORY COMMISSION - COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT


The T.A.P. Regulatory Commission is authorized by the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council to license and regulate businesses in the Tobacco, Alcohol and Petroleum industries in the territory of the Saint Regis Mohawk Reservation. In conjunction with the duties T.A.P. Regulatory is authorized to issue doing business as certificates, all authority is granted by the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council in accordance with the present ordinances that has been adopted by previous Tribal Council's for the benefit of the members of the Tribe.

The T.A.P. Regulatory Commission is staffed with one commissioner, an administrative assistant and one senior compliance officer. They operate on a budgeting protocol that is passed by the Tribal Council on a yearly basis.

The T.A.P. Regulatory Commission conducts our affairs to protect the revenues from licensing fees and administrative surcharge on products that are wholesaled, retailed and manufactured in the territory of the Saint Regis Mohawk Reservation. We promote a friendly and respectful relationship between government, business and the general public. We try to protect the best interest of the consumer and uphold business practices that protect the young and the environment.
