SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Clubhouse Supervisor and Assistant Clinical Director, the Clubhouse Worker will organize, plan, implement, and supervise activities to develop pro-social skills that promote long-term health, wellness, recovery, and drug-free lifestyle with Clubhouse participants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Promotes a friendly, welcoming, and positive environment at all times
· Exhibit a friendly and courteous manner when dealing with Clubhouse participants, families, and coworkers
· Provides guidance and role modeling to participants
· Organize and implement prevention activities for youth in the community
· Work collaboratively with other service providers to present programs and presentations to participants
· Coordinate media campaigns to promote Clubhouse activities and initiatives
· Participate in activities to promote Clubhouse membership
· Enforce Clubhouse rules and regulations to maintain and ensure safety
· Maintain data collection as required for reporting
· Maintain cleanliness and safety of facilities and recreational areas
· Able to participate in the necessary training for this position.
· Able to drive Clubhouse van to transport members to approved outings
· Other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: To supervise youth during Clubhouse activities and outings.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The successful candidates will have strong educational leadership abilities and be knowledgeable of the participants' unique needs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent,
· 1-year experience in the field of alcoholism/chemical dependency and/or Experience with Education, Recreational Leadership, Preferred.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must have a thorough understanding of the disease concept of alcoholism, and how the disease affects the family and Native American communities in general. Strong oral and written communication skills required, able to work with groups of youth and in a team-based setting. Must have two years of sobriety (if a recovering person). Must not abuse alcohol and/or any other drug for a non-recovering person.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Physical ability to lift 30lbs
· Physical ability to participate in various indoor and outdoor recreational activities
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various daily situations.
