SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Grants & Contracts Program Manager, the Grants Officer (GO) is responsible for providing administrative support for the management of post-award grant administration operations for the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Programs. The GO is responsible for monitoring grant contracts reporting and assisting with the compliance with federal, state and tribal laws, and maintaining grant management software and portals.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Be familiar with grant management and grant projects.

• Initiates and tracks the internal approval process for Grant Awards, including the filing and upkeep of grant program documents in electronic and hard file.

• Monitors reporting schedules, deadlines, and requirements to ensure consistent grant processing.

• Maintains accounts in various online grant portals in order to submit reports, amendments, and other post-award documents.

• Maintains accounts on behalf of Tribal Council in online grant portals to monitor progress.

• Assist programs with grant management software and portals for post-award activities. Troubleshoot issues with reporting portals when necessary.

• Assist project support team with creation of reports, tables and schedules needed for project management.

• Assist program managers to ensure proper and timely submission of all required grant reports, amendments, contract documents and accurate maintenance of records.

• Keeps program managers advised of policies and procedures in the areas of expenditure report and provides guidance when necessary.

• Supports sub recipient management and monitoring in compliance with 2 CFR part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards, and other regulations or restrictions.

• Responds to federal and state agencies when necessary.

• Interact and maintain professional working relationships with all divisions and departments.

• Promote a culture of data and information sharing.

• Upholds the customer service standards set forth by SRMT.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisor requirements for this position.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

· Associates degree (A. A.) from two-year College or University in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field; OR

· 2 years related experience/ training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· 1 year past experience with federal grants and reporting portals is PREFERRED

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must have excellent computer skills including word, excel, adobe. Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, and regulations and ability to coordinate the development of complex documents. Computer testing in the applicable skills may be a requirement during the interview process

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
