Call for Actors (and Would-Be Actors)

Are you an aspiring actor or actress? Do you feel like being part of a major campaign? The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, Environment Division, Solid Waste Program is sponsoring the fi rst Kwis and Tiio “Lookalike” Contest, to be held annually. The contest is open to community members of all ages and there are prize categories for under age 18 and 18 and older. Contestants must be present for judging and to win at the 22nd Annual Wellness Day event, Ohiarihko:wa/July 26, 2012, at the Offi ce for the Aging. The judging begins at 10:15 a.m. Contestants must appear in pairs as Kwis and Tiio in costume and accurately portray their respective characters. Kwis and Tiio were regularly featured as mascots for the Tribe’s Solid Waste Program. They have been featured in recent issues of the Indian Time newspaper and can be found on the Environment Division website - http://www.srmtenv.org/index.php?spec=srmtswkt. All who participate will receive door prizes. The grand prize winners will receive the distinction of portraying Kwis and Tiio for one full year, one year of “Blue Bag” service and a paid appearance agreement for one year. Contestants must register with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, Environment Division, 449 Frogtown Road, Akwesasne, NY 13655 (518) 358-5937 by 4:00 p.m., Ohiarihko:wa/July 25, 2012. Late registrants will not be accepted.
