Tribal Election Board Certifies Results

Jun 18, 2012

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Election Board certified the results of the annual tribal elections held on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Community members cast ballots for the positions of Tribal Chief, Tribal Sub-Chief and Tribal Clerk.

Certification of the results was delayed due to an appeal filed on June 8, 2012. The Election Board investigated the concerns raised in the appeal and found that none of the issues violated the current Election and Referendum Ordinance.

The official results show that Paul O. Thompson was elected as Tribal Chief and Eric Thompson was elected as Tribal Sub-Chief. Corleen Jackson-Jacco was re-elected as Tribal Clerk. All positions will serve a three-year term.
