Tribal Police Investigate Robbery and Shooting on Ice Bridge

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on January 23, 2012, Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police responded to an incident on the ice bridge where two unknown suspects shot at and struck a 31 year old Akwesasne man in the leg. The suspects stole a small amount of cash from the victim before shooting him. The suspects then fled the scene on snowmobiles. A second victim was unharmed during the ordeal and remained at the scene until police arrived. The 31 year old victim was transported by Mohawk Council Ambulance to Cornwall Regional Hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.

Tribal Police are looking for two suspects who remain at large. They are described as two males, wearing black snow suits and black helmets, driving black Ski-doo snowmobiles.
