Tribal Police Arrest Burglary Suspect

On March 28, 2013 at around 9:50 a.m. Tribal Police arrested Steven J. Mitchell, 28, of Akwesasne, New York. Mr. Mitchell is charged with Petit Larceny, Felony Criminal Mischief 3rd degree and Felony Burglary 2nd degree. Mr. Mitchell is alleged to have driven a vehicle through the front door of a cigarette store located on Beaver Meadow Rd. (Another Damn Cigarette Store) and allegedly stole 27 cartons of cigarettes from the store. He fled from the scene and was later apprehended on Tarbell Road. Mr. Mitchell was arraigned at Bombay Town Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond. His next court date is to be scheduled by the District Attorney.
