Sep 29, 2016
Akwesasne, NY — At the Monthly Tribal meeting held on Seskéha/August 6, 2016; the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council introduced two draft questions for the membership’s consideration through a tribal referendum. The draft questions pertain to the proposed exploration of medical marijuana and industrial hemp; which was postponed from the June 4th tribal election. They are:

Draft Question #2: “Should the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe explore options to legalize, license and regulate the cultivation, production and distribution of INDUSTRIAL HEMP?”
In accordance with the Tribal Procedures Act, the Tribal Chiefs agreed to present the two draft referendum questions to the membership for comment.
