June 4th Tribal Referendums Postponed

May 14, 2016

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council received notification the referendum questions originally scheduled to be voted on during the June 4th Tribal Election must be postponed. The Tribal Council supports this decision to allow more time for community education on medical marijuana, industrial hemp and tribal membership. Further information, including future public meeting dates and times, will be provided as soon as they become available.

In the meantime, the annual Tribal Election will proceed on June 4th for the election of one (1) Tribal Chief, one (1) Tribal Sub-Chief, one (1) Chief Judge, and two (2) Traffic Court Judges. The Tribal Election will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Community Building. Voters are required to bring their Tribal enrollment card or other valid photo identification.
