Education Division Encourages Voter Turnout on May 15th

Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Director of Education Stephanie Cook (left) and Higher Education Program Manager Joni Cole (right) placed a banner in front of the Community Building reminding voters of the May 15th Salmon River Central School Board Election. The Education Division is encouraging voters to support local candidates PJ Burns and Agnes “Sweets” Jacobs or Curtis White to maintain equitable representation of the Native student body on the school board, as well as to vote in favor of a proposition to hold elections at the St. Regis Mohawk School to increase involvement of Akwesasne residents in the school district.
