Tribal Council Greets U.S. Assistant Surgeon General

On Seskéha/August 9, 2019; members of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council had the pleasure of hosting an introductory meeting with U.S. Assistant Surgeon General Rear Admiral Timothy L. Ricks, DMD, MPH; who also serves as the Chief Dental Officer of the U.S. Public Health Service and Deputy Director of the Indian Health Service Division of Oral Health. It was an opportunity to share information on the Tribe’s dental services, as well as efforts to recruit and retain oral health professionals who serve tribal communities across Indian Country. To assist with recruitment efforts, the Tribe’s Health Services is hosting SRMT Camp Med on August 22nd for high school students interested in learning about healthcare careers, including dental.
