Pfizer Vaccine Immunity Timeline for 2021-2022 School Year

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services is reminding parents that the date to have your eligible school-aged child fully vaccinated for the upcoming school year is quickly approaching. Students ages 12 to 17-years old require 28 days following their first dose of the Pfizer Vaccine to achieve the full efficacy rate of 95%.

The following dates are provided for the surrounding school districts and notes the days to keep in mind for arranging your child’s vaccination. Vaccinations need to be arranged prior to the dates provided below and should be adjusted for students practicing fall sports before the start of the school year:

MASSENA CENTRAL & ST. LAWRENCE CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS:

DAY 1: August 7th — Pfizer 1st Dose

DAY 12: August 18th — Start to build immunity

DAY 21: August 27th — Pfizer 2nd Dose

DAY 28: September 3rd — MCS & SLC First Day of School

SALMON RIVER CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT:

DAY 1: August 11th — Pfizer 1st Dose

DAY 12: August 22nd — Start to build immunity

DAY 21: August 31st — Pfizer 2nd Dose

DAY 28: September 7th — SRCS First Day of School

To help your child get vaccinated in time for the school year, Health Services is continuing to conduct an Open Walk-In Vaccine Clinic every Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the former-IGA Building located at 850 State Route 37 in Akwesasne. All individuals ages 12 years or older can attend, but minors require a parent to be present.

Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services also announced that individuals can now receive the COVID-19 Vaccine during their normally scheduled medical appointment. Please let your health care provider know you are interested in being vaccinated during the time of your appointment.
