Feb 7, 2021

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting two (2) new cases of COVID-19 today — making eight (8) total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. We wish a safe and complication-free recovery for one (1) relative who remains hospitalized due to symptoms.

There are no changes to the number of family members and friends in quarantine, which remains at 24. We extend them all best wishes, as they remain at home to prevent further exposure. Nia:wen/Thank you for placing the community’s safety as a priority by staying home until released by public health.

Public health departments are still conducting contact tracing, but anyone exposed to a positive case and awaiting notification should self-quarantine and monitor symptoms; such as fever or chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches, or loss of taste or smell. For any questions about quarantining, please do not hesitate to call Theresa Gardner or Lynne Thompson at (518) 358-3141.

COVID-19 community drive-thru test collection resumes on Tuesday, February 9th at the former-IGA Building beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., or while test supplies last. Health Services continues to receive limited shipments of the Moderna vaccine, but community members can add their name to receive a vaccination, as well as to obtain their COVID-19 test results, by calling the tribal clinic’s new direct line at (518) 333-0230.

Please continue to stay in your immediate household’s bubble and practice the 3 W’s in all public places: wear a mask, watch your distance, and wash your hands often.
