Mar 31, 2021

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Resumes Tomorrow, 9am @ former-IGA

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting one new case of COVID-19 today — making eight (8) total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. No relatives were released from isolation and nine (9) family members and friends remain in quarantine. Please continue to extend them best wishes for a safe and complication-free recovery.

The Tribe’s Health Services is holding a COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for individuals with social or economic ties to Akwesasne. The walk-in vaccination clinic will be held at the former-IGA Building on Thursday, April 1st beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (Noon), or until supplies last. The vaccine clinic is for individuals 18-years or older who are interested in receiving the Moderna vaccine.

Non-native spouses of Tribal Members or Akwesasne employees who reside in Canada are eligible to receive the vaccine. Canadian residents should contact CBSA beforehand about quarantine requirements upon their return to Canada. For more information, please call Katrina Jacobs, SRMT Office of Emergency Management and Safety, at (518) 358-2272 extension 2210.

Individuals are being asked for their continued adherence to safety protocols that were developed to keep our community healthy and safe. Please wear a mask in public places. Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds. Practice social distancing. Please stay within your immediate household bubble. Do not travel beyond the Tribe’s travel radius of 300 miles for non-essential purposes.

More importantly, please get vaccinated when you have the opportunity to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. We all need to our part to keep Akwesasne and each other safe. Additionally, the sooner the majority of community members are vaccinated, the sooner that safety measures can be relaxed and a resumption of our community’s normal activities can take place.

For more information about the Tribe’s vaccination process or to check your COVID-19 test results, please call Health Service’s new direct line at (518) 333-0230. Please leave your name and a good telephone number for a healthcare worker to call back.

If you have a non-emergency matter, please call the Emergency Operations Center at (518) 320-0019; Monday-Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
