Tribe Authorizes Allotment of Emergency Heating Assistance

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe has implemented an emergency allotment of three hundred and fifty dollars ($350.00) to eligible households who complete an application and meet all criteria as developed for the Fall 2011 Emergency Heating program.

The criteria established to be eligible is as follows:

  1. Applicant must have a current tribal enrollment card and reside within the jurisdiction as defined by the Treaty of 1796
  2. Applicant must complete a Fall Emergency Assistance application.
  3. The household may not have any credit balances from previous fuel assistance programs with any fuel dealers/suppliers and show that there is an emergency need. Dealers/suppliers will be contact to verify the date and amount of last delivery.
  4. Applicants are to have proof of residency. Acceptable forms are phone bill, electric bill, satellite bill, fuel bill or letter from their landlord.
  5. Applicants must provide account numbers with heating source supplier should they provide one.
