Tribe Provides Flood Damage Assistance Information

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe has declared a state of emergency effective April 16, 2014 due to the continued flooding issues in Akwesasne. If you are a member and have received flood-related services from a vendor where you paid them, please keep your receipts. There is a possibility that these services may be reimbursable from a State or Federal Agency. The Franklin County Assessor will be assessing the damaged roads and homes starting next week.

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe's Emergency Planning Department informs community members that help with flooding issues is now available from local and tribal agencies.

The following services are being provided to those members in need:

  • Fuel Tank Safety Assessments - Compliance
  • Septic /Leach Field Inspections and Repairs - Construction
  • Road Damage Monitoring and Repair - Construction
  • Pump Out Basements – HAVFD

Tribal Council continues to monitor the situation and will continue to coordinate all the required and available assistance vital to the security, well-being and health of the community.
