Community Discussion Session #1 on Proposed Animal Control Amendments

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe (SRMT) Compliance office will be conducting two community meetings to discuss proposed amendments to the Animal Control Ordinance that was adopted in August of 2009.

The proposed amendments include handling of aggressive animals as well as responsibilities of pet owners and assisting victims of injuries caused by pets.

The Tribal Compliance team will be conducting the proposed Animal Control Ordinance amendments community consultation sessions on Onerahtohkó:wa/May 24, 2023 and Ohiarí:ha/June 7, 2023 from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

The in-person meetings will take place in the first-floor meeting room at the Ionkwakiohkwaróron Tribal Administration Building, located at 71 Margaret Terrance Memorial Way in Akwesasne, NY. Those wishing to join virtually must register in advance at https://bit.ly/4373Awb.
