AKWESASNE -- In accordance with the 2013 Tribal Procedures Act; the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe is notifying to membership of the proposed amendments to two Tribal ordinances: the Land Assignment Ordinance and the Mortgage Foreclosure Ordinance. Tribal members are encouraged to review and submit comment on the proposed amendment during a 30-day comment period that ends on Onerahtohkó:wa/May 15, 2024.
The Land Assignment and Mortgage Foreclosure Ordinances were adopted through Tribal Council Resolutions, TCR 2008-30 and TCR 2008-31. The current proposal seeks to amend it for the first time. Copies of the proposed amendments are available for membership to view on the Tribal Members Portal, which can be accessed from the Tribe’s website. The documents can also be accessed by contacting the Tribal Clerk’s Office at (518) 358-2272.
Prior to any action being taken, a hybrid meeting will be held on Onerahtohkó:wa/May 8, 2024 to present the proposed amendments to membership at the Ionkwakiohkwaro:ron Tribal Administration Building at 5:00 p.m. The link to register is: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89066520152?pwd=YA9PzpcElYYcjIB97rA0C4RbkHEGVm.1 and is also available on the Tribal Members Portal.
