AKWESASNE -- (Tsiothóhrha/December 7, 2023) The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Environment Division is notifying community members that a 30-day Public Comment Period is being provided for an environmental assessment. The Sken:nen Park Revitalization Project is the proposed creation of two outdoor recreational park spaces along the east and west banks of the Saint Regis River. The west park is scheduled for construction first, with an expected start date of spring 2024, and completion in fall 2024. It will be located on Gray Street, immediately downstream of the Hogansburg bridge. Construction of the east park is expected to begin in spring 2025 with completion in fall 2025. It will be located at the property of the former hydroelectric power dam building on Mill Street.
