The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council announced today that Brian Fent, Chief Financial Officer, will retire as CFO after eleven years of dedicated service to the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe. His last day will be March 7, 2013.
“Since assuming management of the Tribe’s finances in 2002, Brian has worked in conjunction with gaming, administration and accounting departments to establish tight internal controls, resulting in positive yearly audits, and the strongest financial position the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe has ever been in,” stated Chief Hart.
Among other notable accomplishments under Mr. Fent’s tenure, the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe has expanded its gaming operations and recently, successfully secured $110 million financing for the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino gaming and hotel expansion. “Our banking relationships with Key Bank and others have improved steadily over the past several years. Brian’s experience in the banking industry has been a tremendous asset to the Tribe in our dealings with our banks,” stated Chief LaFrance.
“I extend my appreciation to CFO Brian Fent for all the hard work and dedication to the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe,” noted Tribal Chief Paul Thompson. “His contributions have been vital not only to the tribe’s current economic success, but he has laid the groundwork for our future success. I have enjoyed working with him and wish him the best for the future.”
“I have had a very good working relationship with Tribal Council over the past 11 years, and have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to work for the Tribe,” said Fent. “Many people have contributed to the significant accomplishments that have been made and I am thankful for being allowed to be part of the success. There are many more opportunities for the Tribe in the future. I wish them all of the success and well-being in the future.”
