Comments from Tribal Members Being Accepted Until September 5th
Akwesasne, NY — At the Monthly Tribal meeting held on Seskéha/August 6, 2016; the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council introduced two draft questions that will be posed to the membership through a tribal referendum. The introduction of the draft questions pertain to the proposed exploration of medical marijuana and industrial hemp; which was postponed from the June 4th tribal election.
In accordance with the Tribal Procedures Act adopted by tribal voters in a referendum held on Ohiarí:ha/June 1, 2013, the Tribal Chiefs agreed to present the two draft referendum questions to the membership for comment.
