SUMMARY: The Mental Health Program Coordinator is responsible for organizing, implementing, and evaluating mental health programs and services. This role supports both administrative functions and community outreach efforts, ensuring that services are accessible, effective, and aligned with organizational goals. The coordinator works closely with clinical staff, community partners, and clients to promote mental wellness and reduce barriers to care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Plan and coordinate mental health programs, workshops, and support groups.
- Monitor program activities to ensure quality and effectiveness.
- Assist in developing program goals, objectives, and evaluation metrics.
- Maintain accurate records, schedules, and reports.
- Assist with grant writing, data collection, and reporting for funding agencies.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, and events.
- Build relationships with community organizations, schools, and healthcare providers.
- Promote mental health awareness through outreach campaigns and events.
- Serve as a liaison between the organization and the community.
- Provide information and referrals to clients seeking mental health services.
- Support intake and follow-up processes as needed.
- Ensure culturally competent and trauma-informed approaches in all interactions.
- Work closely with clinical and administrative staff to support service delivery.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and strategic planning.
- Provide training and support to volunteers or peer support workers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or related
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or related AND
- One (1) year of experience with grant reporting and/or program development
OTHER SKILLS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping and reporting.
- Grant writing, Grant reporting
- Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office, Excel
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of mental health systems, community resources, and cultural competency.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
