2021 Special Election Absentee Ballot Deadlines

AKWESASNE – The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Election Board is reminding community members who requested absentee ballots for the 2021 Special Election that they must be returned and received by the Election Board before the deadlines below.

  • Mail in ballots: No later than 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021.
  • Drop off ballots: Placed in secured ballot box at the Tribal Administration Building located at 71 Margaret Terrance Memorial Way no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 (date changed due to SRMT closure on July 30, 2021).

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 by calling Tribal Clerk’s Office at (518) 358-2272.

Please note the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe is closed on Friday, July 30, 2021 and Election Board will be doing in-home voting on Thursday, July 29, 2021. The deadline to sign up for in-home voting is Wednesday, July 28, 2021 by 12pm.
