The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, Education Department, is aware of notifications sent from United States (U.S.) colleges and universities to Canadian-born Akwesasronon. We have been working with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and have scheduled the following information session for students, parents, and community members to hear information related to the “creation of record” process, legal permanent resident status, and what it means in terms of financial aid eligibility for Tribal members born on the Canadian side attending U.S. colleges.

Those who would like  to join virtually must register before 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26th, by going to:

https://bit.ly/4ijNF5Q

The online registration process allows the Tribal Clerk’s Office to verify enrollment status, as this meeting is intended for Akwesashró:non.

Following verification, you will receive an approval e-mail from Zoom with a link to “Join Meeting.” Save the e-mail and make it easily accessible on your computer to avoid delays when joining. Please join the meeting at least 10 minutes before testing your computer’s audio to pose questions or provide comments.

Akwesashró:non attending in person do not need to register in advance.
