Summary: Career interns will be placed in various departments within the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe.  Interns will be under the supervision of departments requesting interns and the Career Intern Coordinator. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Job placements will vary upon request from departments seeking Career Interns and availability
  • Attend program orientation
  • Assist supervisors with job specific duties
  • Adhere to Tribal and Departmental policies
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment

 

Mandated Reporter: Based on placement, candidate must become a mandated reporter prior to having contact with children in a job-related capacity and maintain that status throughout employment. This includes completing any necessary training and adhering to all reporting obligations as defined by applicable laws and tribal policies.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: There are no supervisor requirements for this position.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be enrolled in a post-secondary program for the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Must be age 24 and under.

 

Other Skills and Abilities: 

  • Willingness to learn, participate, and ask questions.
  • Ability to communicate respectfully with supervisors and team members.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., email, Word, or similar programs).
  • Interest in developing workplace skills such as teamwork, time management, and professionalism.

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

 

Based on placement, may need to maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Fleet Policy.  

 

The successful candidate must pass a drug test and background check prior to employment.
