Summary: Responsible for management of the home repair and chore services provided at elders’ homes. Oversees daily activities of Maintenance Support Staff. Responsible for administration duties of the program.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

  • Manage intake, distribution, and monitoring of work orders
  • Travel to elders’ residences and complete minor home repairs and small paint jobs.
  • Installation of safety equipment in elders’ homes to include: grab bars, ramp, raised toilet seats, handheld showers.
  • Delivery of durable medical equipment to elders’ homes such as commodes and walkers.
  • Assist elders with finding resources for larger home repairs such as roof, furnace, septic, and electrical
  • Coordinate with Tribal Programs on community projects
  • Facilitates the OFA lawn care, snow removal, and air conditioning lending programs
  • Manage and assign lawn care and snow plow routes
  • Ensure liability forms and applications are completed and signed prior to start of service
  • Completes client satisfaction surveys at end of service
  • Obtain and enter client and service data into the reporting system
  • Installation and replacement of smoke detectors and Carbon Monoxide detectors in elders’ homes
  • Maintains and secures inventory of tools, supplies, and program vehicles
  • Obtains quotes and purchase orders for supplies, equipment, vehicle maintenance, gasoline
  • Submits invoices for all purchases
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure invoices and orders are received
  • Managing staff time, performance evaluations, hiring, and staff discipline
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and program standards
  • Attend required staff meetings and trainings
  • Communicate client and program needs to Director
  • Other duties as directed

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for Supervision of 2 Full-time and 1 Seasonal staff.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; AND
    • One (1) year experience with Plumbing and Carpentry experience a must. 

Other Skills and Abilities: Must be able to lift and carry at minimum 50 pounds. Operate power tools, lawn mowers, and snow plow.  Provide training and guidance to staff

 

Reasoning Ability: Be able to prioritize job duties. Calculate materials needed for tasks. 

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Fleet Policy.
