SUMMARY: The medical receptionist will assist the medical clinic in managing schedule
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule appointments for patients
- Ensure providers schedules are updated to reflect availability
- Refer all non-routine requests for appointments to the clinic staff for triaging
- Answer telephone, transfer calls to appropriate staff or take messages for staff
- Schedule lab visits
- Cancel appointments as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience an asset
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong oral and written communication skills as asset
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems
