Summary: Oversee the Nutrition Programs by promotion, maintaining, and improving the nutritional well-being of elders served. Programs include Congregate, Home Delivered, Grab and Go, Nutrition Education, and Nutrition Counseling. Must work cooperatively with Head Cook, kitchen staff, drivers, and Registered Dietitian.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Oversees administration duties of the Nutrition Programs
- Taking daily requests for meals for all Nutrition Programs, forwarding meal numbers to kitchen, and recording any meal cancellations or meal holds.
- Ensure meal delivery logs are updated daily, reviewed upon completion, corrected, and filed for annual evaluation
- Ensuring daily Food Temperature logs are completed, reviewed and approved by the Registered Dietitian, and filed for annual evaluation
- Ensure monthly kitchen inspection reports are complete, reviewed and signed by the Registered Dietitian, and filed for annual evaluation
- Work with Head Cook and drivers to schedule monthly dummy trays, ensure reports are reviewed, corrective actions taken, reports approved and signed by Registered Dietitian, and filed for annual evaluation
- Ensure that monthly menus are completed by Head Cook and staff, reviewed by the Registered Dietitian, have a complete analysis, and filed for annual evaluation.
- Forward approved menu for distribution for newsletter and to clients.
- Ensure program monitoring reports are completed, reviewed, corrected, and filed for annual evaluation.
- Distribution of monthly nutrition education programming to Home Delivered Meals and Congregate Meal clients as approved by the Registered Dietitian. Schedule in-person congregate programming with Registered Dietitian. Maintain records of distribution for annual evaluation.
- Distribution, review, and filing of nutrition surveys for annual evaluation
- Obtain participant registrations for Congregate and Grab and Go clients.
- Input program service data into reporting system to include units of service, distribution of Nutrition Education, Information and Assistance, and participant registrations.
- Make client referrals to Registered Dietitian for Nutrition Counseling and maintain client files
- Maintain records of program contribution collection and deposit
- Maintain records of all kitchen staff training for annual evaluation to include: fire drills, AED/First Aid/CPR, annual State Sanitation training, quarterly kitchen staff training.
- Will work with Case Managers to insure all HDM participants complete a comprehensive client assessment, that re-assessments are completed annually to maintain eligibility, and that regular client contact is made every 6 months.
- Assist in Kitchen as needed and deliver meals in absence of substitute drivers or volunteers.
- Responsible for the Annual Farmers Market coupons and registrations.
- Assist Head Cook with recruitment, coordination and training of staff and volunteers.
- Coordinate purchase requisitions for supplies and equipment and maintain purchasing records.
- Arrange for kitchen equipment repairs and ensure payment for services
- Issue notices in regards to meal changes, special dinners, etc.
- Attends required training and meetings as needed.
- Assist with center activities and events when other duties are completed
- Other Duties as assigned by Director

Knowledge of Akwesasne area a must. Familiarity with kitchen operations. Be able to manage and organize multiple and projects. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Must have good problem-solving skills. Experience with data entry, Excel, and Word. Must be able to work as part of team.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; AND
- Two (2) years of office administration experience.
Other Skills and Abilities: Computer testing in the applicable skills may be a requirement during the interview process.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Fleet Policy.
