Heating Assistance Applications Available for Tribal Members Residing Outside Tribe’s Jurisdiction

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council approved a heating assistance allocation for eligible applicants residing outside of the Tribe’s jurisdiction and land claim area. To be eligible, Tribal members must reside within the geographic area that is served by a SRMT licensed heating supplier.
Tribal members residing within the geographic area may apply for 2014 Tribal heating assistance between March 3 and March 7, 2014 by filling out an application at the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Compliance Department. Approved applicants may be eligible for up to $200.00 of heating assistance, starting March 11, 2014. Chief Ron LaFrance states, “Because of our gaming enterprises, the Tribe is able to provide limited financial heating assistance to our members. We’re glad we’re able to extend this to our members living in close proximity to our territory.”
Tribal members who have already received a 2014 allocation are ineligible. For further information, please contact the SRMT Compliance department at 518-358–2272.
