Tribal Representatives Discuss Development Projects with U.S. Senator Gillibrand’s Office and NBRC

On Tsiothóhrha/December 19, 2016 the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe met with representatives of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s Office and the Northern Border Regional Commission to discuss economic and infrastructure projects for future federal funding. NBRC provides funds for development projects throughout the northeast in vital economic areas that include business development, broadband and telecommunications, and community infrastructure. Participating in the meeting were (from left) Mohawk Networks CEO Jeff Beekhoo, Akwesasne TV General Manager Regan Jacobs, Capital Projects Manager Colleen Thomas, Economic Development Director Christopher Thompson, NBRC Program Manager Christine Front, NBRC Federal Co-Chair Mark Scarano. Office of U.S. Senator Gillibrand Economic Development Director Jon Cardinal, Office of U.S. Senator Gillibrand North Country Regional Director Susan Merrell, Tribal Sub-Chief Michael Conners, and Office of Economic Development Business Services Specialist Ed Smoke. SRMT Executive Director Tsiorasa Barreiro also joined the discussion.
