Tribe Announces Emergency Food Box Distribution

Mar 26, 2021

Working together for the health and wellbeing of the Akwesasne community, Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe will be distributing 1,000 food boxes Monday, March 29, 2021 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until supplies last at the former-IGA Building.

FEMA funded, the food boxes are being distributed in SRMT's ongoing response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Food distribution allows households to social distance and avoid grocery stores, keeping our families safe. The 1,000 emergency food boxes are being distributed under strict safety guidelines. Tribal members are asked to adhere to the following requirements:

  • All traffic must use the main entrance to the former-IGA Building;
  • Individuals must bring tribal identification;
  • Tribal members must remain in vehicle; and
  • Limit one food box per household
  • Please ensure there is adequate space for large boxes in each vehicle

Please remember to social distance, wear your mask and use hand sanitizer or wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and hot water. If you are unable to attend the food distribution and are in need of food or supplies, please contact Office of the Family/Victim Advocate at (518) 358-3021.
