Tribe’s EOC Continues to Report Zero COVID-19 Cases

Jun 14, 2021

AKWESASNE — The Akwesasne community is doing a great job following protective measures, such as mask wearing in all public places, as the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center reported no new cases, no active cases, and nobody in quarantine under the Tribe’s jurisdiction today. We extend appreciation to everyone who is doing their part to keep us all safe, including those who got vaccinated to protect themselves, their families, and other community members. Niawen/Thank you.

An Open Walk-In Vaccine Clinic is being held every Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the former-IGA Building located at 850 State Route 37 in Akwesasne. All individuals ages 12 years or older can attend, but keep in mind that minors require a parent to be present. College students are urged to check with their school’s vaccination requirement for returning to campus in the fall. If you have any questions about vaccine clinics being conducted by SRMT Health Services please call (518) 333-0230.

Individuals who are 18 years and older and receive the Moderna Vaccine will be entered into a drawing to win prizes: including a 70” Flat Screen TV, $250 BJ’s Gift Card, or a 1-Night Stay in Lake Placid with Zipline tickets! Those who receive the COVID-19 vaccine will also get a voucher for a FREE Sub, courtesy of Subway located in the Speedway Plaza at 935 State Route 37. All minors 12 to 17-year-olds who receive the Pfizer Vaccine will be entered into a drawing to win a $250 Apple Gift Card.

The next drawing will take place on Wednesday, June 16th for the second $250 Apple Gift Card for the 12 to 17 age group, along with drawing the first of two $250 BJ’s Gift Card for 18yrs or older. A new drawing will be held each week, so please get vaccinated and don’t miss your chance to win prizes!

Community members who received their COVID-19 vaccination away from Akwesasne are asked to call the Tribe’s Outreach Program at (518) 358-3141 to have it documented with Health Services. Documenting vaccinations locally is an important way to help track and build community immunity.

If you have a non-emergency matter, please call the Emergency Operations Center at (518) 320-0019; Monday-Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. #####
