Mar 22, 2021

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting zero (0) new case of COVID-19 today — making four (4) total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. There are ten (10) family members and friends in quarantine at home to prevent any further spread of the virus. We wish those affected by the COVID-19 a safe and complications-free recovery. We also say “Niawenko:wa/Thank you very much” to everyone for keeping our community’s safety a priority by following all the safety measures.

As a reminder, the next COVID-19 community drive-thru test collection clinic will be held tomorrow on Tuesday, March 23rd at the former-IGA Building beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., or while test supplies last. Akwesasne residents and employees can also schedule a test by calling Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Malone at (518) 521-3322 or their Massena facility at (315) 705-0700.

A PCR Test is only needed if you have been outside of their immediate household bubble or not following protective measures. There is no need to get tested weekly if you have been complaint and stayed in your immediate bubble. The PCR tests are free however, requests to receive a Rapid Test from our mass test providers is at the individual’s expense.

For any Akwesasne resident (18-years old or more, regardless of residency) interested in scheduling a vaccination, please call the Tribe’s Health Services to arrange an appointment at (518) 333-0230. Do not assume you are scheduled until you talk to someone directly. (Individuals awaiting COVID-19 test results cannot receive the vaccine.)

Regardless of your vaccination status, we continue to urge community members and guests to wear your mask in public places, stay at least six (6) feet apart from others who do not live in your household bubble, wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds, and do not travel outside of the 300-mile radius for non-essential reasons.

If you have a non-emergency matter, please call the Emergency Operations Center at (518) 320-0019; Monday-Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
