Tribe’s EOC Reports 2 New COVID-19 Cases: 26 Quarantined

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center is reporting two (2) new cases of COVID-19 in Akwesasne’s southern portion. No community members were released from isolation — making eight (8) total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. There are 26 family members and friends in quarantine and following guidance from public health. Though our case numbers remain low, we ask everyone to please get vaccinated to help protect those who cannot get vaccinated; such as small children and those with immunocompromised conditions.

COVID-19 WALK-IN VACCINE CLINIC –WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28TH

Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services is conducting COVID-19 Walk-in Moderna Vaccine Clinics every Wednesday beginning on Wednesday, April 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the former-IGA Building located at 850 State Route 37 in Akwesasne. The walk-in clinic is open for all individuals 18-years or older who are interested in receiving their first dose (Prime) of the Moderna Vaccine.

For 16 and 17-year old who are interested in receiving the Pfizer Vaccine, a Walk-in Vaccine clinic will be held on Friday, May 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the former-IGA Building. You may also contact Health Services to schedule an appointment by calling (518) 333-0230. Please leave your name and telephone number for a health worker to contact you. A parent must be present for the appointment.

COVID-19 TEST COLLECTION – DAILY BEGINNING MONDAY, MAY 3RD

Beginning on Monday, May 3rd; Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services will be conducting COVID-19 PCR Test Collection Clinics at their main campus located at 404 State Route 37 in Akwesasne, NY. Their new testing facility is located between the Tribe’s Food Distribution and Maintenance Garage. A drive-thru format will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., or while test kits last, Monday through Friday for all community members and employees of the Tribe, Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, Akwesasne businesses, and school districts.

Akwesasne residents and employees can also schedule a COVID-19 test by contacting Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Malone at (518) 521-3322 or Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Massena at (315) 705-0700. The PCR Test is free however, requests to receive a Rapid Test is at the individual’s expense. Please note that individuals who awaiting test results cannot receive a vaccination.
