Tribe’s EOC Reports 2 New COVID-19 Cases: 3,699 Vaccinated

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting two (2) new case of COVID-19 today — making four (4) total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. Two (2) relatives were released from isolation however, eleven (11) family members and friends remain in quarantine. We ask everyone to please continue to be kind and understanding to those who continue to be impacted by the virus.

The Tribe’s Health Services is reporting that; as of March 19th; 3,699 doses of the Moderna vaccine have been administered; which includes 2,377 Prime (first) and 1,322 Booster (second) shots. It takes approximately two weeks after the second shot for individuals to receive the 94.1% efficacy rate however, regardless of vaccination status individuals should continue to follow all safety protocols.

Health Services is reminding Akwesasne residents that Community Walk-In Vaccination Clinics resume tomorrow on Thursday, March 25th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Friday, March 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.. The walk-in clinic is being held at the former-IGA Building for northern and southern residents who are 18-years-old or older and interested in receiving the Modern vaccine.

For 16 and 17-year-old residents, the Pfizer vaccine will be available at the Friday, March 26th clinic however, you must have a parent present to receive the vaccine. If you work or attend a University or College outside of the immediate area, please call (518) 333-0230 for Saturday options.

If you have a non-emergency matter, please call the Emergency Operations Center at (518) 320-0019; Monday-Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
