Tribe’s EOC Reports 2 New COVID-19 Cases, 45 Quarantined

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center reported two (2) new positive cases of COVID-19 today, which makes twelve (12) total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. We are pleased that six (6) of our relatives have successfully resolved since yesterday however, the number of community members in quarantine increased to 45.

The EOC is asking individuals to be kind and wish everyone who continues to be impacted by the coronavirus a safe and speedy recovery. The coronavirus is all around us, so the risk to contract the virus remains high. As a result, please be compassionate and considerate by following all the recommended safety measures: wear a mask over your nose and mouth, stay 6 feet from others, avoid uncontrolled gatherings, wash your hands, and get vaccinated when it’s your turn.

As more vaccines becomes available, more groups will be notified for the opportunity to get vaccinated. Additional COVID-19 drive-thru test collection clinics have been scheduled for January 12th, 13th, 19th and 26th beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the former-IGA Building. In the meantime, community members and Akwesasne employees may continue to schedule an appointment by contacting Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Malone at (518) 521-3322 or Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Massena at (315) 705-0700.

For anyone seeking to obtain their COVID-19 results for a test conducted by Health Services or its mass testing providers, please call the clinic’s new direct line at (518) 333-0230.

If you have a non-emergency matter, please call the Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center at (518) 320-0019; Monday-Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
