Tribe's EOC Reports 2 New COVID-19 Cases: 5 Total Active

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting two (2) new case of COVID-19 — making 5 total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. Zero (0) community members have been released from isolation or quarantine, while at least four (4) family members and friends remain in quarantine at home. Zero (0) relatives are currently hospitalized. We wish them and everyone who continues to be affected by the virus a safe, and complication-free recovery.

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Health Services is now taking registrations for those ages 16 and 17 interested in receiving the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. For those interested in being placed on the list, please call (518) 333-0230 with the name, phone number, and date of birth by Monday March 22 at 4:00 p.m. Please note – you must be at least 16 years old at the time of receiving the vaccination. Do not assume you are scheduled until you talk to someone directly.

CDC guidelines have relaxed mask wearing and social distancing measures for those fully vaccinated when visiting family members outside of your household bubble, however The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe (SRMT) reminds community members that protective measures that were developed to keep us all safe are still in effect, regardless of vaccination status: Wear your mask in public places. Stay at least six (6) feet apart from others who do not live in your household bubble. Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds, and do not travel outside of the 300-mile radius for non-essential travel. The number of cases is slowly improving, but we ask everyone to please help prevent any further spread.
