Feb 6, 2021

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting two (2) new case of COVID-19 today — making seven (7) total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. Four (4) of our relatives have been released from quarantine by public health officials and still recovering. There are no changes to the number of our community members in quarantine, which remains at 24. We still have two (2) family and friends hospitalized and we wish them all a safe and complication-free recovery.

The Tribe’s Health Services is continuing to receive a limited number of doses, which are being provided to identified groups in accordance with the CDC’s recommended guidelines; such as healthcare staff, frontline workers, and elders ages 65-years or more. For anyone who wants to add their name and be contacted when doses become available for more identified groups, please call (518) 333-0230. Individuals can also call that number to check their results for COVID-19 tests taken by the clinic or its mass test providers.

As a reminder, our community has seen an increase in cases following each of the past few holidays. To ensure that won’t happen after this weekend, we ask everyone to please place the community’s overall health and safety as a priority. We urge people to NOT gather for Super Bowl with individuals who do not reside in your household. We also urge you to continue practicing the 3 W’s: Wear a mask, watch your distance, and wash your hands often.

If you have a non-emergency matter, please call the Emergency Operations Center at (518) 320-0019; Monday-Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
