Tribe’s EOC Reports 3 New COVID-19 Cases: 11 Total Active

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting three (3) new cases of COVID-19 today — making eleven (11) total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. No community members were released from isolation and there was no change to the number of family members and friends still in quarantine, which remains at six (6).
Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services is holding a COVID-19 Walk-in Vaccine Clinic on Thursday, April 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon), or until supplies last, at the former-IGA Building located at 850 State Route 37 in Akwesasne, NY. The walk-in vaccine clinics are open to all individuals 18-years or older who are interested in receiving the Moderna vaccine.
A COVID-19 Walk-in Vaccine Clinic will be held on Friday, April 16th for individuals ages 16 and 17-years old who are interested in receiving the Pfizer vaccine. The walk-in clinic will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the former-IGA Building. A parent or guardian must be present to get vaccinated.
As a reminder, Canadian residents with a social or economic connection to Akwesasne are eligible to receive a vaccination by appointment only. Canadian residents need to call Katrina Jacobs, Office of Emergency Management and Safety, at (518) 358-2272 extension 2210 for border crossing requirements.
All individuals are encouraged to get vaccinated to help those who cannot receive the vaccine, such as young children and those with immunocompromised conditions. Being vaccinated protects yourself, them, and helps our community get one step closer to resuming pre-pandemic activities.
