Tribe's EOC Reports 3 New COVID-19 Cases: 23 Total Active

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting three (3) new case of COVID-19 — making 23 total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. Twelve (10) community members have been released from isolation or quarantine, while thirty one (31) family members and friends remain in quarantine at home. One (1) additional relatives have been hospitalized — making three (3) community members who are in the hospital recovering from severe symptoms. We wish them and everyone who continues to be affected by the virus a safe, and complication-free recovery.

Akwesasne residents and non-member employees can receive a FREE PCR COVID-19 test March 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th at the former-IGA building in Akwesasne, from 9:00 am to 1:00 p.m. or until supplies last. Individuals may schedule a Free PCR COVID-19 test collection by calling Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Malone: (518) 521-3322 or Massena: (315) 705-0700. Please be advised that individuals cannot receive a COVID vaccine while awaiting test results.

The next vaccination clinic is available by appointment-only for enrolled tribal members (40-years old or more) living in Akwesasne’s southern portion. Those who have been diagnosed with diabetes are highly encouraged to call and schedule an appointment, as well as non-members who reside in an eligible person’s tribal household. To pre-register, please call (518) 333-0230. Do not assume you are scheduled until you talk to someone directly. (Individuals awaiting COVID-19 test results cannot receive the vaccine.)

Please help prevent any further spread of the virus by avoiding uncontrolled gatherings and following all the protective measures that were developed to keep us all safe: Wear your mask in public places. Stay at least six (6) feet apart from others. Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds.
