Tribe’s EOC Reports 5 New COVID-19 Cases: 18 Total Active

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting five (5) new cases of COVID-19 today — making 18 total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. No community members were released from isolation and 18 family members and friends are now in quarantine. A total of 216 total positive cases have been reported since January 1st, so individuals are urged to please remain vigilant, follow all the safety protocols, and get vaccinated when you have the opportunity help Akwesasne build community immunity.

COVID-19 WALK-IN VACCINE CLINIC:

Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services has now administered a total of 3,165 Prime vaccinations to Akwesasne residents and those with social or economic ties to the community. A total of 2,571 Booster shots were also administered to individuals who are now fully vaccinated. A huge “Niawenko:wa/Thank you very much” to our health workers who have conducted a combined total of 5,736 total vaccinations.

Health Services is holding an open COVID-19 Walk-in Vaccine Clinic every Thursday at the former-IGA Building for individuals 18-years old or older who are interested in receiving the Moderna vaccine. For individuals 16 and 17-years old, please contact Health Services for information on receiving the Pfizer vaccine by calling (518) 333-0230. We ask everyone who is scheduled to receive their second shot to please attend your appointment to avoid risking the availability of more vaccines for our community.

COVID-19 TEST COLLECTION CLINIC:

Saint Regis Health Services and its mass test providers have conducted a total of 9,159 COVID-19 Tests. We are asking individuals who are returning to Akwesasne from beyond the Tribe’s 300-mile radius or haven’t been compliant with safety protocols to please get tested. Individuals who had a suspected exposure to a positive case should also get tested no sooner than seven (7) days after exposure.

Health Services is holding a COVID-19 Test Collection Clinic on Tuesday, April 20th at the former-IGA Building from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (or until test kits last).
